What is a Notice of Assessment?

The NOA is a document that is issued by the federal government when an individual’s personal tax return has been completed and filed. The NOA shows a breakdown the income from the past year as well as the balance owing or the refund.

How do you get Your Notice of Assessment?

There are two ways to get your NOA

  1. By mail: Canada Revenue Agency mails it to you via the mailing address on your tax return
  2. By CRA Online Mail: You may need to create an account, but it is very easy to do so as it is a government of Canada website.
